New in RWD, TE71 owner

Ok so the engine is a 2C diesel, 2l
I have to check the gearbox.
I went to a scrapyard and they have a 2l 3SFE. They tell me it comes from a MR2, but from what i found on the net, it did not.

It could fit ? What kind of modification ?

3SFE would most probably fit the gearbox, but probably not the crossmember. But adapting the crossmember should not be your biggest problem I guess... Changing over a modern engine require a lot of electronics and looms to be implemented.

The 3SFE is AFAIK not MR2 but rather Carina II and lower spec Celicas. The MR2 MK1 has the 4AGE/4AGZE, MR2 the 3SGE/3SGTE and Mk3 the ZZ engines.

The crossmember is too fit the gearbox ot the engine ?
Which crossmember shall i use ?
And what about this steering problem ?

The crossmember is where you normally put the engine on. This normally differs per car/engine combination. That also involves you needing to change the steering as well.
