Hi guys im new to the forums as you can see, im looking for information on drifting and where to buy/setup a AE86 car, ivjust got my drivers license and have been eager to drift and setup a AE86 car for a long time.

There's loads of action going on in the UK, best is to check out http://www.driftworks.co.uk, they post regularly on practice dates etc.

As for getting an AE86 and building it up to drift spec, just browse around here for the building up and don't get to scared of the work and money involved. Finding one is REALLY hard in the UK depending on your budget. Expect to pay well over 6000 pounds for a good car, and then you haven't started preparing her.

Best option is importing a drift prepared hachi from Japan, several guys have gone that route

Is this your 1st driving expirience, or you already experienced another cars before you got the drivers license?

I dont want to be disapointing or something like that, but I wont sugest an AE86 as a 1st car. A little tricky, and you will not resist to step on the gas once in a while, so.... i dont think that is a car for a start.

But if it is you dream, then go for it... carefully.

When looking into an AE86, personaly I would pick a decent one in what concearns to the body and interiors, the mechanical is much more duable and less "painfull". Thats what I can say to anyone whos after one. Unfortunatly i dindt follow my own advice.

ok thanks for your help guys, back to lipinhu's question,i already have a car which is a fiat punto but i dont know if drifting in front wheel drive cars really work? I mean i dont see why it shouldnt do but i had doubt or not whether to set it up as a drift car.

So i kind of asking, can you drift in front wheel drive cars?

Most RWD-nerds will probably say that drifting an FWD car is gay.. Lots of handbrake yanking going on.. Still, controlling a car while sliding remains a skill and drifts like these:

Drifting an fwd car would probably learn you plenty about how to initiate drifts..
