Hello from Auckland, New Zealand [AE85 F20C]
Hi Everybody! Cool

Managed to stumble across this website from searching around on the net to find a community for like minded AE86 owners and I must say apart from the detailed tech sections, there are some very very nice cars out there which have given me inspiration to build mine! (Ian.G and nzae86 in particular)

I'm a 22 year old from Auckland, New Zealand and have owned 2x AE8x Levins in the past. I've had quite a few cars in my time but none of them have had the bond with me like the old classic AE85/6 chassis.

Well, i've introduced myself.. Heres my current project drift car
(props goes to Ian from Hamilton for most of the mechanical work)

Hello from Auckland, New Zealand [AE85 F20C]
Looking soooo good.

How did you get the fuel level sender to work ? are you using the s2000 float in the ae86 tank or have you managed to convert the signal from the ae86 one into the correct resistence for the s2000 cluster ?

Regards Ian.

Hey Ian,

As the car is originally an AE85 i've retained the factory fuel tank but run an external fuel pump with surge tank.

It's using the original float and is wired up to the dash however it does not read correctly.

When full it reads empty, then once you do about 80-120km it will say full on the tank. However when it gets down to about 3 bars it subsequently runs out of fuel! (learn't my lesson from that)

It's an issue that I have got used to however it would be interesting to see how others have tackled the problem!

Otherwise, the car still retains the full original loom and ecu and it has only been mated up where needed which is great. I just need to find out how to remove the check engine light as the egr has been removed and has set the light off.

Btw, Your car is truely inspirational. It was your car which made me want to own a F20C powered AE85/6
