New update:

Ok, some times things just come together at the right time. Found an add for an old TE71 steering wheel. Looked nice and oldscool in the add and for 25 euros including the hub worth taking an risk on. Picked up the wheel this evening and it is absolutely MINT. Nice and thick wheel, leather is in excellent condition and the diameter is large enough to actually use it for driving.

Sorry to hear that Doc..might have a spare engine and gearbox for you faster then expected...if you happen to know someone with a spare carina or celica propshaft (or anything else that would fit) edit#2: Doc: can you confirm whether a TA23 propshaft will fit in between the T50 gearbox and TA22GT rear axle on a KE25? Found one for just 25E !!

Edit: Newsflash just in:

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! Have found and aquired a set of TE27 steeringknuckles.
That means that all the hardware for the AE86 front suspension swap is now complete. Just need some new seats + propshaft now and time to weld-up the LSD axle and engine mounts.

great news!

You found some better ones than the guy who wanted to sell them for 100dollar?

About the propshaft.. I don't know, but for 25 i'd take it anyway. Shortening it wouldn't be that hard (for a company).

Spent the entire weekend on prepping al the minor plastic parts that can be found around the car. Nice job if you just need to do one or two of em, but not so fun if its a box filled with the things Banging head
Today I sneaked into the universities paintshop to give them their base coat of primer..Wow what a difference a professional shop makes, everything you need etc etc. Tomorrow morning I will be sanding down any little errors I might have made and fill out some of the larger scratches that the primer didn''t cover. Then in the afternoon they should be ready for the final coat of graphite grey paint. I should be able to slap them onto the car as soon as wednesday.

Also found out that the housings of my turn signal lights are completely rusted...Going to try and find some cheap housings from the scrapyard and somehow solder them onto the remains of the KE25 back plate.

Carbon guy is all disappointed that he didn't need to do a valance for me. I\ll have to find something in the enterior for him to play with.
