OIL:)
Sort of summary of oils preferably used by AE86 owners dissected into sections. I did not put down every kind of brand named here, mainly the ones with some more specifics to it (grades and stuff)
Engine oils - typical 10W40 semi synth oils Fresh refill tends to need approx 4L (3.8L) Branded: Castrol RS 10W60 full synth Castrol GTW 10W40 Valvoline Durablend 10W40 Valvoline Maxlife 10W40 Gastrol GTX 10W40 Motul 300V LE MANS fully sync 20w60 Tranny oils - typical 75W90 GL4 Fresh refill needs about 1.3L Branded: Redline MT90 (GL4 75W90) Diff oils (LSD) Depends a bit on application, for branded LSD's use brand diff oil. KAAZ LSD: KAAZ LSD GL5 oil TRD LSD: TRD LSD oil (FR) CUSCO: Redline diff oils Fresh refill tends to need 1.3L Branded: Castrol 75W140 GL-5 Valvoline Durablend GL-5 LS Motul 90PA LSD MPM SAE-90W GL-g Castrol Saf-Xo Let me know if there's more, whether there is a general consensus of what's good and what's not good (i.e. something like a "We from AEU86.org recommend ....." ) |

350k km on mine. The last 140k km I was using full synthetic oils like: Castrol RS 10w60, Fuchs titan 5w-50 and Liqui Moli Racetech 10w60. After winter, I will try to put Motul 6100 15w-50, in order to reduce oil consumption (1 liter per 5000kn with 10w-60).

I use 10W60 (less oilcomnsumption compared to 5W40 I used before)
Brands: Silkolene, Castrol EDGE or TWS what ever I can get my hands on Oil pressure on the stock gauge never goes below middle even after a couple of hot laps with temps reaching 100°C AE86 ex-daily |

Brand: ALDI, LIDL or whatever convenience store has something on offer Problems: none.. [NoHachi, who believes that changing oil every couple of months is better insurance then spending money on expensive brand marketing.] A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
