The GL-5 is the correct oil for the diff but you should use GL-4 for the trans. Using GL-5 in the trans will cause synchro problems. Don't ask how I know. If you look in the owners manual it will note GL-4 for transmission. Long term, the EP additives in GL-5 will attack the old type of brass synchro's found in the T-50. Dave W

Current situation.
I've used the car as my daily for years just maintaining it mechanically. I had a vision in my head on how i wanted to build my ae86 but somewhere, sometime i went off track. (like buying rotas) Reflecting on that, it isn't what i wanted and decided i needed to take a different approach. Which is taking things slower, save money, put in the work. I'll make a few posts with everything i've done so far.

I'll be posting everything in no particular order. (2017 till now)

Put on a new apexi air intake. Fitted a group A header and street exhaust system from Martelius.

New brake calipers front & rear, pads & discs, handbrake cables.

Put on new inner & outer tie rods, dustboots, lower control arms & powersteering knuckles on manual rack. Changed the blown tokico blues to bilsteins with new topmounts.
