Sounds like your lsd is working, but I still say doing a donut is the best way to tell.

Dont worry about urethane bushings...if you can get rubber replacements cheaply then go for it. The important thing is that they are not worn out.

I think you should probably paint the undercarriage with rust protecting primer and possibly even paint before putting on any tar like undercoating.

About the waterpump, just turn it at the pulley and feel if it turns smoothly. If there is much resistance or if it doesnt turn evenly all the way around then it's either worn or in the process of wearing out.

Tnx!

About the bottom side of the chassis.. yesterday i used a metal brush mounted on a powertool, so i started to remove al the little rusty bits. Looking at the other photos, my body is in pretty good shape.. hm.. thats sounded a bit gay Big Grin my cars body i meant..

i have also taken apart the bridge, arms, stabilisres etc.. i took all of that stuff to be sandblasted. The "steering-end-piece" and the lower arm will be taken to the shop where they will replace the "link-piece"... man my english sucks.. Confused

after that i will paint everything with primer color, and than with the rubber-based color.. that should be good for some 10 years.

bushings are not in great condition... the most critical are the ones connecting the front and rear stabilisers (the small ones).. thet are cracked and lost their flexibillity years ago..

So where can i get all the bushings? i dont want polyur, just new rubber..

hopefully i can get someone with a cam to come and make some pictures.

tnx for help!

cu.

About brake lines, you give your old ones, and the man made you the same new. Price maybe about 15 € each.

About bushing, I order two bushing from specialist, and he made them for me. You need to give him metal in which your bushing are inserted, and he made new ones by speciment. Price about 35 € for me for pair of bushing on conecting rods on my LSD.
You can chose 3 type of rubber, soft, medium and ( dont know the word )

You must give to both specialist a speciment of bushing or brake line. You can't order.

i will sandblast everything that can be sand blasted. i love it. it cheap and effective.

now ill just paint the stuff with a base (primer) color (red-brown) for metal.. than ill paint it with rubber-based color -thick layer.. thats it. you can than paint with some body color over that.. but i wont do tat for the undercarriage.

Apolan,

here we also have steel braided brake lines they are more expensive but you can also find complete sets at ebay. Always remember you got 7 brake lines total and then one line for the transmission part. /(clutch)

Your going nicely but remember first build the car then worry about the lsd :-)

Robo; when you said take 4 weeks off work.. worry not, i had quit my job just to be with my hachi 24-7. Big Grin

yesterday i have painted the wishbones, arms, bridge.. with a primer color.. aint no rust comming through now! Evil

i have also put up the brake booster and cylinder. and also the clutch master, and release cylinder.. which is just dangling down there at the moment as i am yet to instal the trans. im not 100% sure i did the wireing (brakes, clutch) correctly.. i'll take some pics and youll tell me what you think.

i have seen all the rubbery parts, and i will put all new. found a company here that does that.. ill see whats the price for steel braided ones and decide accordingly.

question: is there no firewall on the outside of the car (enginme bay)?

will post some pics from yesterday later..

dzana! Smile

2) what is that thing-device in the upper left corner, just above the washer fluid tank? is it for wipers?

there are milions of other little sensors, and tiny weeny thingis that i have no clue what they are all about.. ill post some pics, hopefully you can tell..

well my engine looks like this one (above).. can anybody please take some detailed pics of engine bay (closeup). it would really help me..
