I didn't like the game much tho. It was fine until the drifting portion, it was like driving an ufo... tho arcade games will be arcade games. These pics are from the grip/race portion of the game. Trueno Sprinter Zenki AE86 -83 http://www.driftarmy.fi/ |

Nice pictures!
The drifting during normal grip races sounds very familiar. Personally I already hate the game and quit playing it out of frustration... First of all it keeps crashing on random occasions. Restart the game, reconfiguration, shutdown the game, restart the game to get it to work again. Second of all the game is almost impossible to play without a steering wheel (gamepad is just a little bit better than mouse+keyboard). Third of all I'm not allowed to drift corners when grip racing (won't count as a "mastered corner") but on the other hand I'm scoring massive points for "aggresive" racing. Fourth of all each new track is even more difficult for (only) my half year old laptop and I have to disable more and more detail to keep it working. So, now I remembered why I didn't buy games for the PC anymore: they never work instantly. And I just got the drifting unlocked but did not dare to try it yet because I already feared it would be bad if the grip driving is already actually drift driving. So anyone wants to have my copy for free (ex shipping costs!)? 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Eh theese nfs games are all the sam nowadays. They should be running out of idiotic titles pretty soon (carbon, shift..), that say absolutely nothing about the game - and that would be a good time to kill the series altogether. Its almost like fifa. Since 98 there is really nothing new to it. First nfs 1, 2 and porsche were the best, they had a soul, Hot Pursuit 2 and 3 were also pretty decent, and for a couple of days the underground was okay, now it all went downhill.
Dont even compare this to GT5 please! Its like comparing tetris to building a house. |

Apolan Wrote:... Couldn't agree with you more, NFS Shift's physics is just so wrong. P.S. who likes racing or drifting on PC, might wanna try out Live for Speed. With a decent steering wheel - it feels awesome. |

The point is that they tried to split the whole NFS series into three groups: serious racing, tuner stuff, and racing on open roads. The first of the new approach is SHIFT, so how the others will be called is still a mystery (probably Carbon or Underground 6,7,8,infinity). They really made a very disappointing game for the people who like serious racing and also for the people who expected a true NFS (Carbon/Underground/etc) game.
Try this for once: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q="need+for+speed+shit" Personally I don't get why they chose the name SHIFT. They could have expected the name to be used in a different way if they couldn't live up to the expectations! BTW: the first NFS was actually a serious racing game which had, for that time, good physics and the Mazda RX7 FD... Now if they could only take that game as an aim and make something as good as that one. 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |
