The lime is, strangely, the most special of that bunch...

I agree, the Lime is kinda more unique than the others.

Wow! Thanks for voting guys. I guess Lime wins because I can't imagine there will be many more votes. I have a whole lot of reference material for the Lime, and I think I have all the parts to build a model. I can certainly get close to an accurate version, but I think it will take a long time to complete.
I'm looking forward to getting started on the Lime, just remember that I can't build until the middle of June. A lot of my reference is coming from this video (quite the sleeper it seems): Can anyone tell me why there seems to be two different versions of the Lime? I can't find much info on it. Gold car should be finished tomorrow (or the day after) too. |

Thanks Bean. It's good news because that's the version I was hoping to copy anyway since I found those exact wheels in 1/24 scale.

The bottom one has those granny seatcovers like the car in the vid, just a different model year probably.
I also get the impression the bottom one has a thicker black edge above the lights, like the kouki model, but that's probably just the picture quality...since the grille and bumpers are decidedly zenki. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Indeed I've found both versions of the Lime while browsing various Japanese pages. I think you're right, its probably a model year change.
Gold car is done! I've had to obscure the registration in the pics because I based this on a real car and I'm not sure if the owner wants the registration being shown here (lets just say 20vWill would be proud). Parked alongside is an Aoshima diecast Levin, a very nice model if you can find one. I definitely need to take better photos for the next build because these pics don't do it justice at all. Strange because I got some great results with this phone when I first bought it. |

Awesome build quality and it looks like a genuine UK spec car!

To update this thread, the Lime hasn't been forgotten. I had to complete a project for my job (now done), so I have some free time again. Looks like I'll be onto the Lime model in a few days, this will be a big one! |

Progress (finally, though I did say I wouldn't be building the Lime until middle of June).
Aoshima don't make a 2-door shell, so its necessary to build one from the Fujimi kit. This isn't my idea, there's a few other builders who have documented this conversion. I'm starting with these: The SR kit is surprisingly good, there's some decent parts included in the box. But the main reason I'm using it is because it comes with drum brakes for the rear and the correct wheels for a Lime. Here's a pic of the two shells together. The Fujimi shell just won't do the job (its not accurate enough), and I obviously can't build a Lime as a 3-door: The process of cutting the relevant parts of each shell is fairly simple. Mark the lines with tape, then cut the plastic with some strong thread (a trick I picked up from a colleague): I know the cut isn't very neat, but I'll be tidying it with a scalpel soon. Here we go: The wheels will be perfect: I'm done for this weekend: I'm not sure when the next update on this will be, I think the next step is to modify the interior accordingly and then tidy the cut line of the shell. |
