intermitant starting problem

right this is annoying me now :mad:

everynow and again the ae86 wont start

i can jump start it and i can bump start it, but i cant start it by key

i had the starter motor solenoids done before i put the car on the road because it wasnt starting at all, and it seemed fine for a few days, since then it just does it every few days.


the electrics come on, and all is fine there, when i turn the key i here the ECU clicking but it doesnt turn over, starting to annoy me,


now these problems didnt start untill i got my alarm and immobiliser fitted, does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be????

immobiliser may nopt be working right...battery might be weak...
also check if the connector to the starter is still tight

battery is quite small, will trace the wiring 2morrow and check that, i sometimes wonder if it is big enough




one other thing is i can sometimes leave it for a few hours and it will start again

I've had the clicking noise before...that was the battery gone bad. I've also had it completely quiet and not even trying to start..that was an immobiliser gone bad and/or the starter signal wire come loose.

Had the same problem: clicking noise and nothing. Battery gone bad, eventhough I charged it enough.
