Project: My new trackday toy (56k beware!)
Lajoosh Wrote:i have a few questions for you. yep, industrial spying I believe the doors are made so you can use all stock accessories (window trims, locks, windows etc). Yes the window trims go back around the window, I've test mounted it on one of the doors. Not sure what you mean by inner strenghtening panels at the lower part of the window opening? What do you want photos of? I can bring a camera and document what you want to know if I just understand what your meaning '85 AE86 4AGE, '94 SW20 3SGTE, '83 KP61, 72' RA21 |

Project: My new trackday toy (56k beware!)
Well, since this thread was awoken from the dead today I might as well try to update on the few things that has happened since the last update. :E
Right after the last updates I came to a point where my kp61 really needed some urgent rust repairs or it was a possibility of it being lost for all times... Sooo I had to let the ae86 be for a while to sort things out. Well, to make a long story short(er) a LOT of rust repairs were done, and then things started to get a bit out of hand with lots and lots of sidetracking and changing plans Here is a few pics to illustrate some of it... not quite done yet, but getting there a step at the time '85 AE86 4AGE, '94 SW20 3SGTE, '83 KP61, 72' RA21 |

Then as its been quite cold lately, and the ae86 was occupying the only warm(ish) part of the workshop I've recently had a look at it again. The original plan last year was to complete the body rust repairs, but I'm not really ready for another project of the kind this soon after the starlet so it got postponed for a while. The good thing about that is that I could start the reassembly again so I can have some fun on tracks.
Installed some lexan windows. Made an amateurish attemt to get more clearance for some 304/288 cams with 10mm lift I was planning to run (I would use different tool if I were to do it again, however the end result is the same... clearance ) Unfortunately I discovered some damage on the exhaust cam, so until I can get it repaired I will have to make due with the old setup... head cleaned and coming together again. Engine assembly Some uniball parts was put in for the suspension. I was planning to modify for equal lenght 4-link, but decided to try the difference with uniballs only first to experience the difference. Then I can put in the new boxes when I get around to the postponed rust repair. And then engine back in Well, thats about where it stands at the moment...
