Project Sakura
tldr: my new 1972 240Z Series II project aka Sakura.
So now for the longer version. After regretting to buy a 240Z 10 years ago due to lack of space. I finally tracked another one down for a reasonable (in todays market) price. What made it more difficult was the intent to buy an original EU model, rather then a US import. So early September I stumbled over a Swiss model that ended up in Zeeland NL. 2 weeks ago I did a 1600km round trip over the weekend to inspect it and close the deal. Send in all the paperwork right away and had it register a week ago. Took another trip this weekend to pick her up and drove her 800km home. Apart from a small leak in the fuel filler neck rubber thing which forced me to never fill her up more than half a tank and a quick brake fluid service everything whent well. Did a quick check today at my workshop and put a small shopping list together with parts I need/want to order. She'll has to goin for the test early November depending on the weather conditions by then I'll do itright away or postpone it to early spring. Don't want to drive her in Swiss winter. Plan is to keep her as stock as possible so I can pass the Swiss Veteran (special classic car) inspection. She needs a bit of TLC as the last owner, unlike the 2 previous ones didn't do more then the very necessary. That's it for now, I'll be off visiting my wife abroad end of the week so don't expect any updates soon. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk AE86 ex-daily |

First tiny update. Parts I've ordered just arrived, unfortunately some were out of stock and a wireharness was sent for the wrong model.
In anycase this will give me something to get started if I can find the time. Most of it is basic maintenance parts but also added some OEM looking headlights that actually make a difference at night as well as the proper turn signals and fender mirrors. It'll be a while before this is all fitted but I got all winter to do it anyway Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk AE86 ex-daily |
