Quick Help for street springs rate.

As I am going to order bc racing coilover set, can somebody advice me about spring rates for driveable for daily driver AE86?

I found out that spring rates for daily driver should be front 6kg and back 4,8kg. Should I use this spring rates?

Purpose of the car should be;

- sportive daily drive
- not extremely bumping as hell
- the car drive well while lowered to 3cm - 5cm

I'd say for a sporty daily drive, those springrates are still high. Mux's car has these rates, and they arent exactly comfortable anymore, but tolerable compared to 8/6 kg/mm setups, which are just too stiff for our roads.
I'd say 5/3,5 seems like a good compromise. Add more rear springrate if you want it to have more oversteer.

Well, hope it works out for you.. otherwise no big deal.. coilover springs are easy to find and not too expensive. What kind of setup do they have on the rear? Are they true coil-overs with the spring fitted around the shock, or just height-adjustable platforms mounted in the original location?
In the latter case, it might be difficult to find replacement springs.

I'm running 6kg front and 5,1kg rear. I like it a lot and with good (adjustable) dampers its suprisingly comfortable. In street mode I like it to have a tiny bit of understeer and neutral on track. This is no problem

I have 6k rear springs. And they are comfy for daily driving. Mux and oldskull know how soft my rear was at the toyota meet.

It all depends on the damping. The HTS have a wide range of adjustment from full soft to full hard.

My megan coilovers on the other hand have 32 levels of adjustment but still are stiff even when set on soft level compared to the HTS.

I would ask how the damping of those coils is.
They look exactly the same as megan's and those are stiff. :wink:

I'm running TRD dampers and they have a wide range as well. I remember Mux saying that the HTSs didn't feel quite right when set at the softer levels. I have no personal experience, though
