Rally Project
This is my little project.
I have had a very, very busy year with not much time to be able to mess with this car. Started at Christmas, its a basic project as I am doing most of it myself as a learning curve so constructive criticism is welcome. The plan is to quickly build a basic (rough) car & then down the line build a better version. An 86 is for Life, not just for Christmas |

Rally Project
Totally stock, Ive never had much to do mechanically so I said Id put a basic engine together first to see what happens before spending any money on go-go bits.
I had s13 coilovers up front for a few skid days that I did & was going to get rid as I am going on gravel + a bit of tarmac sprints etc, the TRD blues will also have to go. But now......... I am going to try this, order Bilsteins for the rear with suitable springs & fit these s13 standard struts with adjustable shocks. The car will be higher in the back but I will sort out by cutting off the mounting bracket on the front struts & dropping them the required height to level off the car... see how it goes. Have also fitted the s13 SR brakes with a R32 master cylinder, but have to make some new lines to make it all work. What spring rates are the gravel rally guys running? 4-5kgs??? Is that a S13 front suspension? And does it fit 1 on 1 on the standard parts? |

Rally Project
Thanks Peter.
Yep, cheap, cheerful & DIY. See how it goes, as in whats the worst that could happen!!! Couldn't bleed the brakes since I fitted the s13 SR brakes, so I figured I needed a bigger master cylinder, after a bit of asking around, the R32 non abs is the same, very odd how the 2 front lines have different ports & the rear a single port.. have to get some lines made up from a bit of mig wire I bent up before I know if it works or not..
