Rally suspension

Hi everyone im new on here.
Ive recently baught a 20v ae86 rally car and was wondering what suspension is everyone else running for forestry/tarmac rallys. Ive currently got bilstein inserts all round and was looking for a full coilover option for my car but cant find any for rallying.

The mistake I believe most people make is to go too stiff.
At the moment for tarmac I'm running 40mm inverted Bilstein inserts 300/70 rating with 300lb front springs and 190lb rear springs with Bilsteins.
Are your front inserts the common B6 Bilstein ?
Speak to Nigel at AVO in Northampton about coilovers he rallied an '86 back in the day and is extremely helpful.

Do you have some more specs and pics on those 46mm billies?
Are you running the nissan s13/14 stuff or can you get away with running the longer bmw/audi/saab stuf? Did they go into the strut easily? Was it enough to sand down the paint on the insert or did you take a reamer to the strut tubes?
How much is the revalve work over in the uk?

46mm bilsteins can be made to work awesomely. You have more pistons to select from, more valving options and less heat builup. The bigger shims will cause less hysterisis.
Stock 86 B6s are 36mm by the way

edit: neve mind, just saw that you probably have the usual Escort mk2 36s? I could make you something better ;-) but they are pretty good already.
I'm talking with the people from AST to see if I can get them to make some ae86 shocks to my specs, with their expertise, for a reasonable price. We did some for a mx5 that were so good that I now have to buy a miata. The 86 will get jelous if that is not remedied.

I dont know which bilsteins they are i will ask the guy i baught it off he will know exactly what they are.
Ill phone AVO and see if theyve got some ideas for me.

Yeah, just the normal Escort Bilsteins but they work well are not expensive and come in a range of settings and lengths.
I had a chance meeting with one of the engineers from AST a few weeks ago, guess I should have asked him a few more questions
