Robo, according to the FSM the taillight and indicator relays should be located near your feet (where the buzzing comes from).
Since you have neither connected there might well be a shortcircuit (remember, the ae86 has permanent 12v to the lights and switches to ground).

Try the fuse pulling I wrote down earlier and see where that gets you...

WOW super help BeanBandit Respect! . Guess my first gamble would be the fuse box in the engine compartment. It could be that your wireloom is slightly diffrent due to AFM. Not sure though.

I'll check it out. Worst case scenario would be to replace the whole wireloom just to check it. Seeing Roger post also makes me think that there could be something wrong there.

The wireloom connected to the fuse box also does the lights. So it might as well be that exact same one.

I added you on MSN btw Smile

Looks like you have a ground problem.
Is your engine grounded?

Other possible failure:
What I can remember from the pass, there is a small connector under the ignition coil, if this one isn't connected the engine also doesn't start.

I believe it is a little black connector, but have to check this evening.

can anyone check for me if the ignition coil is not connected or broken if you get an engine light ? Wondering if the fuse box is in connection with it.

alright had a bit of a closer look...

the small black connector we talked about yesterday has too wires on mine but only on one side Banging head on the other theres only the black one with red stripe... there is also a 10A fuse in a black thinggy bellow the + side of the battery it has the same colour coded wires going into it... but when I removed the fuse the car started as normal and also engin light goes on.
Guess that is due to the yellow wire not beeing connected all the way through... so I think the culprit must be in the black wire (the one you still have) so on the side where I have two wires (close to the fusebox) it goes into the wiringloom towards the + of the battery the other side goes into the loom that goes over the engine above the campulley... I can't say were it goes from there but I'll have a look in the workshopmanual maybe I find some wiring diagramms that help more... as I have no multimeter at hand can't tell you if it's earth or live maybe someone else can check this on his car...

And now it did start. You can all laugh as I see my self to be pretty well known with Hachi's. But I forgot a bolt on the intake for grounding the injectors. So my engine checklight failed. My ecu fialed. and my injectors failed Tongue

Now really cuul its running. But it doesn't drive.

- problems with the clutch cylinder making it unable to change gear
- "broken" fuel line between fuel filter and fuel rail need to order a new one
(its leaking like hell and just old)
