Rough idle, Stalling. Please HELP!
I just recently bought this 84 SR5 that wasn't running when I first picked it up.

I replaced the starter and changed the oil as it smelled strongly like gas.

Now to keep it running I have to keep revving it. It stalls at around 1000 rpm.

Here's the most suspicious cause that I can find. This isn't my car. It's a pic that another guy sent me. The hose labelled "Disconected" had a bolt stuffed in it and was taped up with hockey tape when I recieved the car.

Really, what I'd like to know is what this hose conects to and if it (being disconnected) would cause such problems.

Please let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Here's a sample of what it sounds like.

And If I put it in gear it stalls because the idle is set too high, at about 1200 rpm, because it won't stay running at 900 rpm.
