I dont think using a microscope is a very realistic approach to remove rust. You need to get as much as possible of and neutralise the microscopic particles with some kind of rust converter if you want to stop it from rusting again after sanding. A better but also risky approach is to have the body panels sandblasted and painted in rustpreventing primer directly after that. Spraypaint wont do if I understand it correctly.

I do not have ambitions to go over the entire body inch by inch with the microscope...... But on small areas with surface rust it is exelent

Mux, you where talking about glueing pieces of metal into your bodywork.
What kind of product you use for this. BTW, thanks for the usefull information on rust treatment. |

My first car was Vauxall Cresta '59 (an GM car from England). I started to restore that car. When I stripped all old paint, I see that there were some older repair jobs. Instead of using polyester putty they used massive "welding" and filling with tin! And I swear - no rust around, no cracks, when the paint was on it - I cannot see any imperfections.
