I would suggest removing the floor mounts + raised sections all together and using a rally mount kit like they do in stage cars.
That's also a little extreme.

I've got the T3 floor braces to go in mine so I don't necessarily want to be doing that as well Sad

I want to avoid cutting OEM seat mounts if possible to future proof it more than anything. i would prob try a custom set up before having to cut and weld parts of the floor. i has crossed my mind. i know a lot of the US guys do it with success but just not for me.

I did have another play around tonight. removed the seat and rails and had a play around with the dremal and grinder. I cut the corner off the part in the photo as it was hard up against the gear tunes. by doing that freed up a lot or pressure on the seat rail and has made it easier to move back and forth.

I also opened up the bolt wholes on the seat rail with the dremal to give a bit more lateral movement. again this has helped loads! i think i could prob make the wholes on the rail on the tunnel side quite a bit bigger but for now I'm happy. the seat sits and moves fine and is safe over and above all.

been a while since i updated.

almost 100% of interior is back in. sorted out that Jap spec wiring that was going on, fitted my carbon bonnet to find out that the threads where no loner in existence thanks to the C*%T i got it from, so they had to be drilled and tapped which isn't fun when its carbon.

Headlights finally work. turned out it was the motors that where done.

I painted the bumpers as well. Managed to find texture paint and it worked out loads better than i hoped. Glad i did the bumpers and it really makes the fresh paint pop. A small before and after pic of the bumper paint

still having an absolute mare with it hunting. done everything i can but its just not playing ball. I've changed igniter, every vacuum hose, throttle body, TPS, thermostat, bled the cooling system, drained the cooling system and then refilled... you name it I've done it and it still hunts! but cars away for MOT tonight so hopefully the garage will have it sorted out for me.

That looks waaaaaay better bud.

I build carbon fiber parts and found it better to use studs instead of nuts

I did think of using studs if i had to cut out the thread blocks completely but thankfully it didn't need to come to that.

Yeah that would be a issue to fit studs in afterwards

GUESS WHAT GOT MOT'D!!!!

so after 10 long months in the garage she has a clean bill of health.

Hunting issue is sorted. Turned out it was a blocked water pipe at the rear of the engine and the throttle body spindle had a air leak. bit of a learning curve but its thats that. thanks for the help and input from everyone.

finally had a spare day or so to drive it and it goes like a stabbed rat. holy shit. I'll get a video up in the next week or so when I'm back from work. Its one of the best going cars I've had. For NA i really wasn't expecting it to go as well as it does. I know these aren't the quickest cars in the world but straight line against a fiesta ST which are 150hp iirc, it left it for dust. THAT i wasn't expecting.

so I'm over the moon to have it back. Just new tyres and wheels for Nurburgring in July and play around with suspension and ill be happy for now. ill concentrate on aesthetics next year i think and ill just drive it for now.

Ill keep this thread going and update as i go along.
