Scrapper's ride
When I was finishing my studies in Holland and planning to return to Aruba, I had already decided to rebuild the SR-5 my mom drove here on the island. I have been on Aruba for about a month now and got a pretty banged up second SR-5 to start dismantling. Cost me about 120 or so euro's (AWG 300).
My car has a 4AC engine if i'm not mistaken. I plan on using the transmission and some interior parts from the wreck I got. Also dismantling the wreck first will help me learn the workings of the car before starting on my driving vehicle. The wreck I got has the complete A/C unit wich I intend to use also. Aruba is a vey hot place. Parts like mirrors door hatches and other small stuff I can use will be transposed. I already started dismantling the front fender and bumper on the wreck and already broke some rusted screws. Here are a few pics of the cars. My ride The wreck Interior( if you want to call it that) Reserved for a cool sig |

It's an identical twin!!!
The SR5 does indeed have a 4AC. The wreck is in a pretty bad shape... Can you actually reuse anything from that interior besides the dash? 1983 - AE86 Sprinter Trueno - import project 2013 - Honda Civic sport - daily driver 2004 - AEU86 dot ORG - daily domain Support our forum, buy from the AEU86 shop: |

Ok, been over three years since last posting, wow! My hachi is finally getting the rebuild. As the body guys started scraping away the paint the horror emerged, this is the current state:
Irony is that wreck up there actually is in better shape haha, but the car is getting fixed no matter what. Car got a new (well newer) engine, new brake lines, new shocks. Will update, sooner this time.[/img] Reserved for a cool sig |

How can it be so rusty in a nice and warm climate? Must be those tropical storms...
