Scuderia rollator CE86 trueno project
time for a huge update.
so far we did the total tear down of the car and started rust removal as you can see the car suffers from rust on the usual places and some unusal too, like the roof. just to show you the tip of the iceberg. we took off the roofskin removed the sound deadening from the inside and the underbody coating. started seamwelding and replacing the rusted panels with new. meanwhile we had an appointment in the rollcage shop. we got a FIA approved minimal light weight cage also started to work on the rear suspension. removed all the unnecessary weight off the axle housing, theres coilover on the rear so no springseats needed. the brake lines will be inside the chassis and will connect to the brakes directly, so i removed the brake line mounts also. nohachi wants an equal lenght link setup. he has a battleversion linkage set so we just made a copy of the lower links body, to put it on the upper mounts, replacing the short ones. some cleaning and recoating using some leftovers from our pajero rear axle conversion kit, we installed our weld-on type traction brackets nohachi also wants to make sure hes diff oil stays cool so were installing a temp sensor and oil line fittings to the diff, you can see theres a bumper (dont know how to call it ) for the drain plug where the drain line will go in. the halfshafts were twisted by the drifting abuse so were waiting for replacements. ( what happens when you drift an ae86 with ca18det on oem rear axle / halfshafts ) you can check all the photos here: http://xtr-auto.eu/index.php/photos/proj...1#category |
