Great engine sound. I like it, allthough it's little akward in 86.

do you have pics of the steering setup when the car is on the ground? on s13 this usualy only happens when the steering angle is increased and the lockstops removed - leading to the tie rods getting in an akward angle where you need to snapp them out of... (think it's called something like steering going over center in english or something like that)

Not much use making pics. You will need to have it aligned. Go to a shop that does racing alignments and tell them about your problem. They can check whats happening while your car is on the turningplates.
My guess is that its a simple, but serious, alignment problem. Assuming that the original AE86 suspension is still in one piece and has not been hacked etc. Other options, loose steering rack, jammed steering rack (should feel extra drag). A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Im using complete s13 front subframe, spl inner and outer tie rods
power steering is hooked up and still using the stock 86 tension rods maxed out to the 3* caster aligment settings are -3* front camber 0 toe 3* caster -2* rear camber 0* toe |

hey alx954
is it just binding at full lock? and is hard to pull off that point? This is common with nissans, and especially with 86 running s13 as the equivelant "lowering" is drastic with the 86 crossmmber. You need to get a solution that stops the stearing becoming a straight line. Alot of guys here in oz are moving the stearing rack forward, myself and a mate with a s13 have both gone for max knuckle extensions. Worked REALLY well in my case, he binding has disappeared and i have a decent kick in lock also. pm me if you want some more details Was "this" close to doing the vq engine transplant befor i decided on my beams lol.... great work! clutch kick, switch, tree .... oowwww |
