Silverstone 26-09-2005 - Drift UK Practice day

Thanx for the drive/ride Ian, was top fun and for showing me how its done Also big thanx to Kenny for inviting me to silverstone.


I have always had a soft spot for the 86 (since i was about 12 and way before initial D) and i guess i'm well versed in all things 4AGE/GZE having owned various MK1 Mr2s with NA and tuned SC engines, so it seems a logical step to go for the 86.

Coming from a circuit background, i did initially find it very hard to upset the balance of Ian's car on turn-in as i'm used to being smooth, so techniques like clutch kicking are a bit alien to me. That said once i could get the rear end out, controlling it wasn't a problem, its a lot more progressive than an MR2 thats for sure!

I've been having a look around on the web and noticed that there are more 86s for sale than i thought, i guess once you start looking they tend to start popping up. Though to be realistic its going to be next year before i am in a position to buy, though i keep coming up with cunning plans, we shall see..

Am aiming to come down on the 9th Oct at Santapod so maybe see a few of you there.
