Strange TRD pistons 4a-ge
Hi
I bought these unused 81,15mm oversize, trd (Mahle) pistons for the 4age, but the seller said that they were for a special setup with longer connecting rods from an other toyta engine or something, he didn't know exactly either. so if anyone knows better please help me. The piston rings are also missing same shit in finnish: Ostin tuossa käyttämättömät TRD (Mahle) männät 4age koneeseen mutta niihin pitäs kuulema olla vähän pitemmät kiertokanget jotka on kuulema jostain toisesta toyota moottorista, tietäiskö kukaan missä koneessa olis semmoset? ja mitkä männänrenkaat sopii? 280z '75 audi S4 B5 '99 KE25 '71 |

That's not the correct part number...
TRD site states that part number is from a piston with three rings. Those pistons only hold 2 rings... It would be nice to know which engine they are for though... Great quality pistons!! |

apardal Wrote:That's not the correct part number... Yeah thats what I think also. To fit these pistons in the early bluetop you need 5.5mm longer conrods, or you need to cut 5,5mm of the engine block stock conrod: 122mm stock piston (from pin center to top): 30mm total: 152mm you would need: conrod: 127.5mm pin 18mm these pistons: 24,5mm total: 152mm or chop 5,5mm out of the block. 280z '75 audi S4 B5 '99 KE25 '71 |

If those are what I am thinking about, they are Formula Atlantic Mahle pistons. They might be a 19 mm pin.

I think that you will find these are made by Mahle for TRD the part number is 13101-AE801 , these are in my TRD N2 manual as forged pistons and the cast ones (which I have in my Atlantic engine) part number is 13101-AE811
Hope this helps |

nzae86, shouldn't those pistons have three rings?
The PN in the package might have been scratched for a reason... Best regards |
