Tutorial : Megasquirting an European (MAP) AE86 (4age)
HI all. i'm on the MS way with you guys now
Right now i'm soldering it. and the next step in the assembly guide is the #50. It's a MSI V3 PCB. I wanted to make the same as you Gon But i don't know witch way i must take in the soldering... Can some guys that tacked the MSI V3 help me about that...? Thanks SR Team BURN THE RUBER NOT YOUR SOUL! |

I am not sure about this .........
but i think that if you gonna use the MAF ignitor to convert the signal like in this tutorial u want to assemble you megasquirt like it was an "Hall/optical/etc" if you are not using the MAF ignitor and u are going to use the MS to convert the signal for you then use the VR circuit installation once again I am not sure about this ......... |

BOOMEX Wrote:Thanck Gon I think Gon is right, because Vr circuit use R52 and R56 to adjust vr wave (voltage) from distributor sensor and Maf igniter donĀ“t need that. |

Emmm... If I have a JDM '84 4AGE powered car (Celica) that tutorial can be quite accurate for me, can it? I have a Vacuum Sensor... meaning it's MAP - yeah? xP
Plus to tell the truth I've never used soldering iron since I was... 7, haha, when I used to glue plastic bumpers to small car models (tuner by birth, haha)... Is it hard to assemble the MS kit if I'm a more like complete dummy at working with printed electric circuit? (At least I was good at physics at school, haha, so I can have a hope) Thank you! 1972 Ford Taunus (drift project) 1984 Toyota Celica AA63 (4AGE, 5MT, IRS) |

Just to join the fun, I'm using a MS2 V3.0 and directly controlling the ignition through the MS2. I'm just playing with an O scope at the moment to match input and output signals through R52 and R56 adjustment.
My dodgy motor is a bigport from a FWD, as australia didn't get any RWD variants. It's had mild headwork, cams (256 8.1mm), ST ITB's and a fresh bottom end. I've adapted the FWD loom. Using the MS2 board I don't need the stock MAP sensor or the stock ignitor. I'm also using the stock low impedence injectors and have set them up using PWM, so no stock resistor pack. Our FWD's sound like the Euro variant in that injectors are batch fire and the dissy is 24 + 4 teeth. To account for the dissy I'm using the NE signal (24 teeth), and removed to opposing teeth so that it's essentially a 12-1 decoder wheel. My G+ and G- are currently not connected. However, MS2Extra has the ability to take dual inputs. I expect to have this shitbox running by the end of the week, so I'll let you all know how it goes. Also, Diskovod - I'd never even picked up a soldering iron before I started on the MS2. Just proves, or it will when it's running, that anyone can do it. Chris. |

On EMS systems, when using 16v or silvertop TPS, be sure and adjust the TPS so that IDL pin never touches sweeping arm inside TPS.
Otherwise as you approach TPS closed, the earth clamps to sharply. http://www.skynet.ie/~eireae86 |

So the setup is as follows:
4 toooth VR -> MAF igniter -> MS (this is crank angle setup) MS -> MAP igniter -> stock coil -> distributor (spark) Also if i read correctly you are using 12v pull up on 4tooth VR wheel to eliminate noise? Please can you confirm what igniter pins the VR is conneted to. What are the toyota terms for the pins. what pins give the ecu teh square wave? Do you power the igniter as from teh factory, just using it in reverse? http://www.skynet.ie/~eireae86 |

So i have my car running ITB's the way gon explained.
Car is working now and i just have a question. In a cold start when i crank the engine, the idle is way too low (700rpm) But when the car warms up the rotation goes to like (1400rpm) I'm using a ICV (idle control valve) with the itb's. Anyone? |
