Vacuum connections on AE86/4AG ??
Hi all,

I'm putting together my neverending project, and now I have 2 vacuum bits which I don't know where they were fixed.

First one is the vacuum sensor for the economy meter, somewhere below the throttle body on the left side of the engine bay... Is this sensor used for anything else than the economy meter? If not I'l remove it, my tach hasn't got an economy meter any more anyway...

the secon one seems to be a vacuum switch, but I don't know what for, it is connected to the "N" port of the throttle body and has a green connector. the second vacuum line is quite short and I have no vacuum connection left where to put the line... and I don't know where this one was fixed either.

Any pics and tips would be of great help!

thanks,
Patrick

Okay...the econometer switch is connected to one of the 3 terminals at the back of the inlet manifold plenum.
The second is the idle-up switch, the short bit is supposed to go to the air filter..I think.

If that's true, that would be why I dont find a connection Smile

Does anyone have a pic of how and where they are screwed to the body / engine bay? I don't remember their place

thanks
Patrick

The econometer is supposed to mount against the strut tower behind the coolant reservoir, the other one sits pretty low..
You can just see the mounting point behind the airinlet tube..

Teh second one bolts onto the airfilterbox, and have a connection on the box too. If you doesnt connect it, it will raise the idle a couple of hundred rpm´s.

Thanks Ivan, that helps.

@Knudsen: do you mean not to connect the vacuum hose to the filter
or
not to connect the complete switch (electrical&vacuum) ?

Thanks
Patrick
