What light flywheel?
Hi, i looked for the forum, but i haven't any conclusion.
In a few weeks i'm gonna change the clutch, and i was thinking to instal a light flywheel, some questions: * Will feel the difference in a OEM engine (only will have a new cams)?? * What flywheel (no too much expensive like a beautiful TodaRacing)? and compatible with the OEM clutch * Another option is to make a OEM flywheel to light flywheel (eating the "fat"), Anybody knows where would i remove the weight? (a turner work) Thanks |

1. If you go to an aftermarket flywheel you will notice a LOT of difference. Some difference with a blacktop flywheel, but not nearly as much. Because it isn't as light as the aftermarkets, but it is lighter than the stock.
2. I'd recommend a chromoly/steel type flywheel like the toda/jun/etc. 3. NO. Do not do this if you like your feet. Andrew |

Do not do this if you like your feet. Its one thing with a V8 engine or V6 that only spin to 6000 rpm, but with the potential to spin well over 7000, a reduced "fat" flywheel is not safe. To add to that, an aluminum one is better, but as Andrew points out, try to stick with a steel unit, far safer then lightening an aftermarket flywheel Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! Do you know someone who did it on 4AGE ?
Sounds interesting. Have local shop which is doing this and similar stuff, but they don't have expirience with 4AGE neither. |
