What tires on front in ae86 to drift? What you're using?
Hello!
I'm new in drifting and I want to buy some tires on front (I've got 14" rims). You use used tires or only new ones? Already I have 185/50/14. I was thinking about T1R, but they come only in 195/45/14 size |

well 195/45/14 is pretty n1. Most guys on 15' also run 195 (50x15).
I run 205 all around and new. But trust me start drifting with the most cheap ass tires on the rear and good ones on the front. I have a load of shitty tires to rear, but my front tires (yokohama) are dying and I really need to replace them I was wondering if 195/45/14 will not be a bit to sticky? Or I'm just talking bullshit?

Well your front can not bee too sticky at all.
I run semi slicks up front from Toyo and shitty tires in the rear. So just get some really good ones for the front something cheap for the rear. Sizes will not make much of a different as you mentioned them. Going wider and a little less wall height will increase steering response. SO it is a good way to go. speed-inc Wrote:Well your front can not bee too sticky at all. I disagree. Ive just junked my R888's from the front. I feel you need an element of give from the front aswell as the rear, especially if you have low power. Too much grip up front seems to make it harder to maintain a drift, as the front is always trying to pull straight. I use T1-R's all round, but as you say, they do not come in 14". Perhaps try the Toyo CF-1's, or perhaps Yokohama A539's. Bridgestone do some OK 14" tyres also. Driftworks - JSPFab.com - DangerStyle - NightSpirit |

The 539s are crap, I had those all round on my hachi couple of years ago and they really didn't fit the bill imho

195/45/14 is quite small in diameter, don't you think?
What tires can you get in 185/55/14? I use T1R in 195/50/15 on the front. Grips good. Quite cheap too. If I was you, I would get a set of 15inch wheel for the front and run the toyos. |
