Wheel fitments... 15X wide
I currently have 15X8 -10 all round, and I am running some R888 DOT slicks. And I want to look to running 250/585R15 (front) and 275/585R15 (rear) Dunlop Slicks. The front and rears sit reasonably flush (front with around -3 degrees of camber and +3.5 of castor.

By my calculations I can run 15X9.5 for the 275/585R15, and the wheel I am looking at comes in 15X9.5 +3. That means 32mm less clearance on the inner guard, and 6mm extra spacing out on the guard, which I think will be ok.

The fronts are a little more tricky, I will need a 15X9 for the 250/585R15, but am unsure what offset might work to ensure acceptable clearance, anyone had experience with this? I want to avoid running flares if I can...

Interested in this as well.
I have friends with miata's that have experimented endlessly with tire size vs rim size vs speed. They all run 225-45-15 on 15x9. or 205-50-15 on 15x8. The 225 tire on the 8 inch rim just wasnt as fast as the 205 and communicated a lot worse. Maybe something to keep an eye at. Lately they are upsizing again to 15x10 and 235 tires some even 275.

Clearance between front tire and strut (60mm coilover springs) was 2mm on mine. 15x7 ET10 195-50 tire. So any extra width needs to be added towards the outside. I think you would be looking at a:

15x10(slight stretch to keep tire in its happy place)
ET-70

No way that will ever fit under standard guards. Thats the reason most N2 cars run widebodies and they are mostly using narrower tires then you plan on running. It's also a move in the wrong direction for front vs rear trackwidths.

Had 15x7 ET20 in the past with 195/50-15 tires hitting the t3 coilover setup at heavy cornering. Same inner clearance would be 15x9 ET -5. To give it some extra I would look at something around 15x9 ET -15 to -20. Im probably going 15x8,5 ET -21 in the front, but my arches are rolled. Think around 20mm extra

Also depends on the tires maybe. There is no way ET20 would work with 195-50 on mine. ET10 is a hairwidth of clearance. Weird.

I think I might even have a pic somewhere.. I'll see if I can dig it up.

indeed weird. had the azev type a wheels already since i bought the car. With the original struts i had more clearance than after changing to the T3 coilover conversion. original wheel size is 5.5 +18 so if you want to keep same inner clearence mount a 9 incher -27. that would be a A type from SSR but im sure the B types also fit the front. Have been driving the 8 -2 offset for quite long. If you take a B type 9 inch it would be -15 like i said before. For sure this will fit for inner clearance.
A TYPE from SSR
8 -14
8.5 -21
9 -27

B TYPE from SSR
8 -2
8.5 -8
9 -15

Hmmmm looks like Ill have to go with wider fenders... slightly annoying but oh well.

Pity most over fenders are ugly!

Mine are rolled in the rear, though the fronts are fibreglass guards... I just ground them down. The issue is thats not enough...
