oldskull Wrote:Damn I want that rear bumper!!! Thumbs up! but where is the exhaust hole?

we didnt make any exhaust hole because there are many exhaust designs and diameters, not to mention, there are many people use side exhasusts. so thoes who order will have to cut it themselves. (or ask us)...

suspension update!

installed the diff in the rear axle housing

assembled the steering unit (LHD) with new bearings, new passangerside rack bushing, quaife quick steering rack + pinion, new tie rod joints, urethane mounting bushings.
also self machined spacers installed between the rack and the tie rod joints. 7mm on the drivers side (toothed side) and 5mm on the passanger side, thats +12mm throw. this is pretty much all that the quaife rack can take. now it turns around 2,7 instead of 2,5. Hurray!

here i am again with the news.
following pictures show you how im making my adjustable upper links:

i cut off my original upper link ends:

and then modified the head of a bolt to fit

made a center piece out of a tube (25mm dia, 2mm wall thickness)
and also nut inserts for them

all is made of high quality stainless steel. next, im going to weld all together, paint and done.

since my "home made, welded up traction brackets are wider compared to the original, i needed to make these spacers out of aluminum

i decided to only make one per side and by that, pushing the link ends closer to the outer side of the axle housing by 4mm

got the nissan primera disks for the golf 4 rear brake conversion and made "centering rings" for them since the centering hole on the disk is 68mm in diameter vs ae86 60mm. the rings needed to be heated and the halfshafts to be cooled to fit these

yeah its going to be tasty Smile

FIBERGLASS STUFF Smile
finished the rear quarters, ready for order. these are 3,5cm wider and fits to the place of the original. flares separately are also available.

hopefully next time ill come with more photos and the finished sidesteps
and if things go well, a full x-turbo bodykit fitted ae86 Smile

Hurray!

I like the style and the craftsmanship, but what is the use of the 3,5 cm extra width if you are going to have that huge lip on the inside?

its only for getting the fender out of the mould easier and without cracking it and also for the time you fit the panel, easier to put it on straight, without it bending. after all these, it must be cut off.
fiberglass is not like metal panels. they usually wont stay as they are originally. always needs some cutting finishing to fit the actual car.
