about ShortShifts in general
Guys,
I am in serious thought of installing a Short Shifter, TRD, T3... dont know yet... BUT, I hear a lot of voices saying that a short shift reduces drasticly the lifetime of the gearbox. What do you think about this? What brand sghort-shift are you using? And all others questions there might be, can be discussed here... danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the end ![]() |

No problems for gearbox.
Why you hesitate to make shortshift instead of buy it ? |

I'm stupid too - and I made one.
I can make it but only "core exchange" basis - I need the original stick in order to rework it. |

You do no ask for 150 euros, so you are not included in the "stupid" ones

Dear nmwisima, only the smartest ones can get 150 EU for this job :-)
I produced one set for "cj" - the Bulgarian member ot this club (and my friend). I made two 10mm plates instead of one solid 20mm to produce the stick for 55% shortage in shifting - in future we (I and cj) will make some experiments with 10 and 20 mm plates and respective 55% and ~30% short shifting construction. This modification is not expensive nor hard to do - but it just requires original stick. |

Shortshifting will drastically reduce the life of the syncro's if used fanatically. Shifting very quickly with the std box will do the same.

Aloimonos,
1st, this is not a "Buying short-shifts" topic, pm's are a more suitable way  2nd, If I am not mistaken Jammie has "promised" a bounch of stuff, for about a year now, and you havent even see apic of it. Obviously Miro HASN'T GOT ENOUGH TIME to make stuff for you and me, so WHY YOU INSIST, man? ![]() Better forget that thing, and give your money to something else  danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the end ![]() |
