cam lift to TRD valve
I need to hear about your experiences about lift on cam, which I am about to use for a new engne building project. I will use TRD valve, but is it the right to use? I use the car on the roads and not for motor sport. The lift which I have been looking at is 10.0.
cam is IN 288 - 10.0 lift EX 280 - 10.0 lift Do you think I can do it that way or do you have other suggestions? |

IMHO lift is fine - the duration will need a good maping to have it idle nicely

I run 11m lift and the car is driveable on the street but its not a daily for sure.
Valves are not a problem. You need good lifters (the cheapest are on arrowprecision.co.uk) plus uprated springs and retainers. Other lifters are available from webcam, catcams, toda and 1SZFE but no gotta buy exact size. They run for ca.22Eur each. IF Carlsberg made an AE86, then it would be propably the best car in the world... |

Fluen,
using high duration cams in a stock engine is useless stressing for not much power. In my opinion I would look at camshafts with a max lift of 280 (rather lower) with the same amount of lift. That should keep max power below the 7200 range and thus granting longer life for the engine. Do all the modifications possible and don't forget that a higher compression and good head work are essential for getting real power from an engine. Not just cams and fancy brand items. Cars: "99 Lexus IS200 "86 AE86 Kouki Panda Levin GT-Apex (restore project) "84 AE86 Zenki Blue Levin (project racer) Motorcycles: "02 Yamaha R1 "02 Honda Hornet S "08 BMW R1200GS |

it has lone been my opinion that it may be considerably disguised what I went and made but would tell far more about the engine.
it is a 7age with H-Beam connecting Rods TODA pistons (82.0) TODA cam TODA valva springs TODA sports Inject Kit larger valve which correspond to those TRD doing # Robokill Nor would you recommend IN 280 / 10.3 EX 272 7 10.3 |
