No need to get tense In these forums, just as in real life, a discussion
on one thing can easily lead to another. I believe the OP received the information he was after. and from that point on the topic meandered on to other related matters... some of them quite informative Cheers... jondee86 |

WOW what happened to the thread while i was gone!!!
loads of reading for me now *edit Thanks for all the info guys looking at what people have suggested i think a more fast street setup would be suitable to get the gains I'm looking for. I have another rolling road day booked with a different garage so we'll see how similar the figures are. |

If you want 'drop in' cams then you would not be able to use the Catcams as the lift is too high and a fair bit of material needs to be removed from the head.
The piper cams are I believe the same as the ones Raw engineering supply in their 160hp kit and the Kent cams are similar to the Piper ones. An analogue brain in a digital World |

The link goes to cams with 10.5mm lift and on my head with the 9.5mm lift cams there was only just room, certainly not 1mm iirc it was around 0.6mm
clearance. An analogue brain in a digital World |

Actually Bean as I think you know I have the same cams as you and mine have good mid range power and then a nice boost in power at around 6000rpm as well as an engine note change. I have mine set as per the lift @ TDC suggested by the manufacturer. How are yours performing ? An analogue brain in a digital World |

Can't say, the car and engine are still in the container somewhere on the sea. Hopefully by spring I'll have everything running and mapped. Once this is done I'll see if I switch to some bigger cams (...148 or 149). AE86 ex-daily |
