AE92 engine
A 20V and 4agze swap are both troublesome. It seems the late(90-91)AE92 4AG engine is the block to get since it got oil-squirters etc. But is it a simple drop-in?
Does everthing bolt up including the dizzy, waterhoses etc? Or is it also in the back like the 20V? Broken down 1984 Trueno HB |

Everything bolts up fine using the 4ac engine mounts..
It may be the easiest engine to swap in there, it's just that it offers less fun. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

2 Aico:
pay attention to exhaust collector (one from AE86 4AGE will bolt-in) and throttle plate position on intake collector. These two issues are common in FWD--->RWD 4AGE conversions. |

Aico your forgetting the TVIS head its not the same as the RWD caus the ae92 block wire loom is also difrent its not that easy how are you mechanic skills caus it needs a lot to do or you have to let it be done like ivan did
by the way 20v en 4agze aren't that hard its more that they cost alot more. Cars: "99 Lexus IS200 "86 AE86 Kouki Panda Levin GT-Apex (restore project) "84 AE86 Zenki Blue Levin (project racer) Motorcycles: "02 Yamaha R1 "02 Honda Hornet S "08 BMW R1200GS |

If you hammer or weld a box in the firewall you can simply keep the distributor in the original position on a 20v, then it's just a case of rerouting the engine loom that comes with the 20v and connecting it to the existing wiring.
I think the biggest expenses that come with a 20v engine are probably going to be the engine + complete loom/ECU and the water pipes. Besides, there are tons of good write-ups about the swap on the net. Whatever choice you make, you will need an ae86 exhaust manifold. If you go for 16v, then get the intake manifold as well, otherwise you can reweld the throttlebody mount to the other side so it points to the front of the car. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

What do you mean with the non TVIS head? Does it really matter if you're going for a stand-alone ECU?
