fuel line hose from the pump

Hello, been trying to fix fuel leakage at my 84' gt and came across this fuel line hose, it sits on fuel pump hard line above the tank. As you can see from the pictures the condition is very poor, rusty and leaks from the both ends at the bolts where it connects to the hard line. The hard line actually just came off due to rust trying to unscrew this. Been wondering what is the purpose of this hose and how badly do I need it?

That same hose was leaking on mine a couple of years ago. It was so rusty that it had to be cut off. It was replaced by a regular piece of rubber fuel line and 2 clips. Works fine.

The purpose is being flexibel so you can remove the tank

Thanks for the replies. I had been a bit confused, because the return line and breather line also have rubber hoses, only those come with simple clamps.

That hose has 3 BAR of fuel pressure whereas the other 2 have no pressure provided the tank is properly vented.
Make sure you use proper pressure rated hose for the job and decent fuel hose clamps.
