Injector firing?
Anyone know what way the toyota ECU fires the injectors? I have just fitted my 20v ITB's and have got the car running (very badly) on a Standalone ECU with Peugoet coil pack. The timing seems right but not sure If I need to change the injector wiring, I think it is from Pins No:10 ans No:20 from the toyota ecu. I am firing them batched and I'm using a 36-1 trigger wheel.

Cheers

If you take a look in the treads about the inner workings of 4age ecu's, you'll notice that the two injector outputs are actually connected inside the ECU. So the stock system works with batch injection too. Are you sure the ignition is working properly? The fueling side of things is a bit easier to get right I would think (at least good enough to run better than very badly), but the ignition setup is where it gets complicated.

I'm using a Perfectpower XMSL ecu, It's on a totally standard 4AGE with the 20v ITB's fitted. Using standard injectors, fuel rail etc. the timing is at 10 degrees at about 1000rpm and this will change depending on RPM and throttle load, this can be seen on the laptop and also verified with a timing light on the bottom pulley. My new ECU has two injector outputs, I have wired them up to NO:10/20 on the toyota loom. But not sure if this is right. so they should be firing in batches, the same as the ignition.

I will need to get the car to a rolling road to try and get it sorted.

Cheers

you can wire them the way you did ( they way i did as well) but you have to make sure that both output fire at the same time .... as in batch and no alternated...

If you fire the outputs alternatdly, the injectors will fire two times more than they should

So with your ECU you have now 2 banks with 2 injectors each ?
If you use good well known fuel and ignition maps, check condition of VRS signal.

Often aftermarket solutions have problems with bad signal. Take care - you must expect up to 100V here !

I took the toyota loom apart. The injectors seem to be wired so they fire all at the same time. The injector has two wires, yellow and blue. The yellow wire has 12dc when the ignition is on, the blue wires all join together in the loom and then go to No:10/20 on the ecu. This then switches them to ground. I have attached a picture, you can sort of see it at the left hand side of the photo. I will take a close up picture tomorow. I'm going to take the toyota loom off the car and start from scratch.

Cheers

Ivan

At least you made it look like factory MG wiring now ;-)
