intresting (i think) pics of my car (56k WARNING)
The right thing to do would be to go to another technician and make an aluminium strut with oval design so that it would pass over the pipes, which by the way in my supercharged set up are too high...

Man, you CANNOT unscrew AE86 seats from their base. Only cut&weld operations are involved.
Your Recaros can be converted to AE86 mounts relatively easy (welding). But this will not eliminate problem with height. Please, compare seat width between recatos and stock AE86 seats ! |

I think Recaros dimencions are:
width is 430 mm (between bolts) and 360 mm length (also between bolts). Does that tels you anything Jammie? I can give you more precise numbers tommorow danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |

nmwisima Wrote:I think Recaros dimencions are: Man, make a test-fit with the seat (forget about rails for the moment). Recently we adapted AE92 GTi seat to the AE86 - if the seat was 10mm wider, it wouldn't fit in the car. As I can see - your seats are not drastic wider than AE86 ones - but just check to be sure. |

Most seats end up higher than the ae86 stock seats because you kind of sit between the rails in the stock seats. If these are just for sporty driving pleasure then consider putting them on solid metal mounting plates. Those are easy to make from a flat bar of steel. After cutting up your stock rails there is no going back...I've done this for our senna's car so I know something about it.
You could make adjustment holes as well to find your favourite driving position. Consider it before cutting up your old seats. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
