japanese headers
which models are compatible with western cars...?
I got an rs*r steel header but needs some modifications, like a flange to separate it from the steering rod. So, when I understand which one fits right away I will buy it and sell the rs*r pics: http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/1081/cimg6611hm6.jpg http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/406/cimg6612xf9.jpg |

I suggest getting the TRD Generation 3 Header or the Toda Header. Great stuff.

Silkroad also have a LHD one. It seems to have made a noticeable difference on the top of the rev range, but will not know for sure until I've had a chance to get a reference pull on the dyno... Will do it soon, however car has seen 8 hard trackdays since the dyno with stock manifold (when just rebuilt), so might have some power changes due to that. The shape of the torque curve should show the influence from this header though.
This also took at least 6 months time before arriving though.. '85 AE86 4AGE, '94 SW20 3SGTE, '83 KP61, 72' RA21 |

I'm not sure if HKS had different variations, but my friend got one and it didn't fit, the pipe went straight through where the steering column is.
The headers that fit LHD that I know of are: TRD (00642-17141-012) Tsudo OBX KBD PaceSetter Silk Road Dans Toy The other headers manufactures that I know of are HKS, Greddy Fujitsubo RSR Toda Revolver I've known people that have used KBD and TRD (I run TRD myself) and like them. Silk Road and Dans Toy are mighty expensive, but I haven't heard anything bad about them. The rest are... forgettable... -Brandon |
