I think him getting so much attention is becuse many of us have gone through shit to get a 86 and make it run and stuff.. and so we know what a commitment it is to do such a thing. Its good that we look after one another and share tips and advice, or maybe we just love them cars, and dont want to see them end up in wrong hands.. i think he should listen up. After all he is the one who asked for the advice. But now it seems its more for ego-boosting purpuses, than really asking for help.
kent, i'll ask you one thing; why do you need an LSD? and why do you need disc brakes in he rear? why do you need coilovers? |

the handbrake grabs better if you ask me; might even be an advantage for drift learners..
All im saying you cant know the perks and benefits of different upgrades if you havent even driven the car. All mods are meaningless unless you come to all the conclusions why i need this and that. Unless ofcourse the main reason is showing off. |

well, I've known plenty of people who were all talk ... who said they had cars already on the boat, comming from Japan... where in fact, they had a wet dream after watching too many drift videos downloaded from the net.
I have a website, where I have shared my knowledge, with details on my engine transplants, brake upgrade, turbo upgrade, etc, etc. I have anwered hundreds of emails coming through my maximum toyota website since 1995, answered them, spent my free time helping others, and i have nothing against doing so... But I dont waste my time talking to dreamers, and even worse - liers. Always remember: Rev it till it blows, then back off a bit... My whole point was not to be sour, but let everyone feel like they can be part of this board the way they are..that you don't need a fully stripped drift monster to be accepted..or even a car at all.
Anyway, I found a thread that to me was very similar to this thread on club4AG: link is here: http://forums.club4ag.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=128981 One of the lines from that thread says it all to me: "An honest person wins the trust of friends." The rest of that post captures exactly what I was trying to say, but, thanks to the flattness of internet, don't seem to be able to convey.. Anyway, thats the last post of me in the thread..wondering myself why I felt compelled to spend so much time here. A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |
