Back from the dead...
After a long time, of just consuming gasoline and collecting dust my little love was back on the righteous path!!! Satturday morning I went to an Exhaust Technician, very know here in Greece and asked hime to make me a new cat-back exhaust system. With price of half than usual customers I got a stainless steel 50 mm pipe from the cat and after with two silencers and a single titanium mufler tip. As I ask him, exhaust creates almost no noise when at idle and just a sporty roar when it revs up to 3.000 rpm Car also feels more willing from 4.000 rpm and on and I say that knowing you hardly get any power from a cat-back system. I have no pics yet, but I have more plans. Probably Thursday I ll finally put the Torsen LSD and the shorter 4,3 (instead of 4,1) ring and pinion. This in conjunction with an open air filter and and raising the advance timing at 14o will give the car a nice feeling I hope. Never did the timing bump myself..too cheap to pay for premium gas I also thought it had more then enough low down torque. Its like 5 mins work though, so try it out and if you don't like it, just set it back to stock.
Also not sure how it will work on a euro 1.6...most of the stuff you read is for the US 1.8, they never got the cheapskate version... A wheel to steer the front of the car A pedal to steer the rear |

Well,
it does works, and I doubt it need premium gas. Anyway, my mechanic knows so much about the car, he ll tell me the right thing. Its sure been tried in many grekk mx5's though. NA, for now. Especially since I m planning to replace the cat and the exhaust manifold soon (total cost around 400 euros) danielvanderwoude Wrote:looks like the nmwisima joke saved you in the endhttp://www.jdmbits.com |
