Won't fit my friend...turbo is not compatible with RWD engine mounts... And you already have the engine in your car..
Windage tray, oil squirters, strong rods and pistons etc. The 1.6l miata engine is exactly the same as the turbo one...just higher compression (good with todays turbo's, more power off boost, less lag).

there are Miata here in Greece with that engine. It fits right in afaik.

Was there a 4wd version of that 323?

Jup... not to much hp. The engine itself is more or less the same 1.6l BP from your miata...It was the turbo that didn't fit in the miata AFAIK. Though I'm sure you can make it work with a tweek here and there.. Intake manifold was different too I think..Kinda like the FWD -> RWD 4A-GE swap.

Or maybe a 323 gtr 1.8 turbo engine...

No, there are some 323F with 1.8 engines for sale in parts only. Miatas are rare here.
