I notice you had most of your bolts replated, zinc or cadmium? I want to do this, but friends tease me about it. Also my local platers are hopeless. I cleaned every bolt on my car, and bought some new bolts.

I am looking into doing zinc plating myself at home. Ever tried that? If I can do it, I have a chance at restorations like you have done. Good work.

Hi there , yeah progress is still slow , I have been busy moving my office for work , so that has been my main focus but have nearly completed that.
Really all that is left is now the wiring and the brakes which have both been started, I am fitting four pot calipers front and rear on a 10 3/4 inch rotor all round , this has taken a bit to fit in a 13" wheel! . I have had by panel friend make me some door card templates with some shape to them from steel and have had these painted to a high finish , I will now make a mould from these and then make some carbon ones, will post some pics of the steel ones later.

Hi , we are lucky here as we have a good electroplater in my city ,they acid strip all the fittings then plate them , everything I have had done so far has cost about $120 NZD ($70 USD). Hey most of my friends think I'm mad for putting so much effort into building my car , but who cares??

Maybe ? TRD Japan are aware of this car but don't appear to have shown much interest , but who knows?.

I looked back at the first post I made on this project and see it is over two years, amazing where the time goes!!.

As promised here are the pics of the door cards that I have had made from steel and painted , I think the carbon ones will come out fantastic.




I have been finishing lots of little time consuming bits , the rear straps to hold the hatch window in so it doesn't blow out at high speed, I liked the look without them .But that's the look when you want lightweight!


And adding a few bits to the dash to start wiring from, also fitted windscreen wipers, door locks etc, drive shaft now that it has new universals and has been balanced, gearbox oil and some fuel in the tank to test the fuel system and pumps for leaks,
