@Banpei: I think wiring up new relays might not be very practical, might be better of running a wire with a diode in it from the normal rear light to the corresponding coil on the foglight bulb. That way you only need one wire and it will work for both sides at the same time (usually).
I'd keep the brakes on one single light per side though, wiring both up is officially illegal over here. My car failed MOT on that last year (amongst other things), I asked him to show me where it said so in the law and he let me have a look in the book.
According to NL law the brakelights must be an un-interrupted set of lights on each side.

True. Bit stupid indeed. Banging head
Didn't think that way, more or less to prevent current somewhere along the line, but ofcourse if you keep it inside the light itself you don't need to do that. Tongue

I described a similar procedure for the regular coupe rear lights waayyy back in the first montsh the forum existed. You just use a jumper wire from the correct terminal on a rear light cluster, and connect it to the light you want to switch with a diode in series. Make sure it's at least a 6 ampere rated one, you dont want it to burn out, and maybe change the taillight fuse accordingly to correct for the extra current draw.
The nice thing is that the rear light circuit is basically a parallel network, so if you connect the wires on one side, it will work for the other side too. If you're handy with crimping connectors you can make it easy to remove as well, for MOT purposes.

MOT passed!!!! Thumbs up! Hurray!

Nothing where wrong but the rear fog lights.
I put the EU rear lights cable back for the MOT but after test the rear fog lights and the inspecteur ask if the switch also got light on, and it was not and he asked me to removed the lights bulb for fog lights. Thats it, and the car passed! Also thanks to CircutFreak for replaced the bend rear arm for me Thumbs up!

So I can put the USDM rear lights cable back! Thumbs up!
