Hmm, they are not my taste and I'd say if you want to go for carbon mirrors you should apply atleast more carbon to your car: otherwise it looks a bit weird, saving weight on mirrors and not on obvious parts like your hood for example.

I would VERY much like a carbon hood and a carbon rear door( isnt that what its called?) But their is NO ONE in Denmark that sells these two items, and because of the size of a shipment containing a CF hood and a CF rear door it would be impossible to pay if shipped from USA or Japan.!! Unless you know something i dont! then please tell!!
If i could get a hand on those two things i would feel lucky! 1987 AE86 http://www.bilgalleri.dk/html/gal_visbil.asp?ID=41755 http://www.aeu86.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3255 ...FWD SUCKS!!... |

You can always try with shipping from the UK... There are some British guys around, you'd better try finding somebody kind enough to send you something cheaply
The car looks great. I love the paint! Was it restored? If not, then you must've taken REAL good care of it. What are your plans with the engine? Ahhh, VTEC. All the lag, none of the turbo. It's like waiting for bad sex. |

Thanks... The paint was restored in 1998. Cant figure out what my plan is with the engine!? I i had the ability and money i would like to make a 170HP NA tune engine.. I seem to like NA the most. But building a turbo conversion will be somewhat LESS costly than a 170HP NA tune. If i could understand programming engine management i would take a Big port,Non T-VIS engine. Get the crankshaft, flywheel and clutch balanced, get the head ported and slapped with 268 degrees cams. And then the Throttle bodies from the 20V engine. Or put a complete 20V Blacktop engine in it...... But im held back by the engine management issue.. dont know how to work that out.. and getting someone to run the car in with a standalone management system will cost alot of$$$$$$$$$$ -So maybe im off with lightly modify a standard 4AGE and keep the stock inlet system and ECU..

Dont be scared by programmable managements too much. You could use megasquirt and have good results..there are a couple of people on club4ag that run it succesfully, and I'm sure you would manage to do the same. Otherwise you can still use the 20v ECU, it only requires some creativity with the wiring. Again, there are some stickies on club4ag about installing a 20v into ae86's, it has been done LOTS of times before without any fancy motor management. But I would only take one if you like your 20 extra horsepower to be reliable, and for the nice ITB intake sound... for the money the actual 145 horsepower it deliveres arent that impressive.

welcome sultennok,
Sweet looking car you have there - and a rare sight in black too. I too am currently looking for a carbon fibre bonnet (preferably with a drop vent for cooling) as my bonnet is starting to get a little rusty. I hope to have one fittted by the time my car goes back on the road in spring time. I'll let you know if I manage to find one. Regards Ian. |

You might want to talk to René (turbomotor) - he uses Megasquirt for quite a few of the cars he builds... The price is ~3500 dkr and it will do just about anything.
