Replacing oil cooler line
Hi,

I've noticed the oil at the point where the oil cooler hose connects to sump. I have tightened the clip, but there is still leakage.

The leakage might be also from the other source (top of the sump, etc.) flowing to mentioned point...

The oil cooler hoose looks like coaxial cable - it is covered with "plastic" shield.
I'm wondering if I can replace the hoose with a normal rubber hose (without shield), used for fuel lines.
For e.g. Good Year fuel/emission hose with same dimensions, max pressure 50psi, but without shielding.
I found out that I have to use the original clip, as others (I've tried 2 standard clips) don't fasten the hose enough - although I tighten them at maximum force, the hose is still moving Sad

Andrej

hmm...i'd not do that with a normal hose, cause the oil presure would blow it...that's why it has an armor, and it's really much stronger than the normal one

You dont need the armored stuff.. at least not necessarily hose with external shielding. Just get some correctly sized hydraulic hose that's rated for high temperature oil and pressure and you'll be fine. I wouldnt use fuelline, it's not rated for high temperature I think.

Thanks for the answers Smile

In the 4age manual there's written that at 3k rpm there's max 71 psi, so the fuel hose is not suitable.

I'll try to find a hidraulic hose then Smile

Most hoses for AT gearboxes are suitable.

Just explain to the guy in the store or in the workshop for what you need it. I think the inner hose diammeter is 10mm. I've replaced them last year, and I remember that I bought 13mm at first place so after I had to change it to 10mm. It was a high pressure hydraulic hose.

Fun is not the straight line!
