Get yourself a cat1 alarm. £300 installed and will bring down your insurance.

security devices in your car
One fine day, when my 86 is all nice and painted (sometimes feels like it's never going to happen), I'll install an alarm in her, I still have a gemini alarm lying around somewhere. But I dont like the fooking wiring job that comes with it.

flip your backrest to the front ( so a passenger can get in the back),then drill a hole in the steel part of the backrest and one in the piece where you sit on.Align these holes and put a lock through them.

I hope my description is clear haha. But this way it is impossible to joyride your car.

You could also try setting your car on fire, that should deter anyone from wanting to steel it. Undecided

Seriously though, has anyone had any experience with tracking devices like LowJack and such? I'm worried about my car just being towed off.

I have a shifter-handbrake locker. Removed the conection of the main keylocks, and only opens by the alarm remote.

Here in portugal they´re often missing. I think its ok to get your car secured, but if someone wants it bad, he goes anyway and you´ll never know how. A gun in the head is the latest here. Sad but true.

I have no door handle and not locks to pick. Smile
Also I have no fuel filler cap so thive won't go too far since my car is all the time low on fuel.
Also I have Prestige car alarm for remote entry since no door handles.

How do you fill her up? Through the boot? Huh

Mine used to have an immobilizer which TE71Corolla never placed back after replacing the loom. I don't think I have the immobilizer itself anymore, but I still have the key for it. Wink
Currently I have a steeringwheel lock which works okay but if you cut off the top of the steering wheel it is of no use anymore. But the way mine looks nobody wants it anyway. Big Grin

Well, once the car is fixed up I might consider buying some more drastic security measures. Tongue
