what is the difference between a 1984 and a 1986 blue top engine?
I am asking this because I want to buy e turbo kit an they say its for 85-88 engine only, and my corolla is a 1984 levin. so....
pls help!

sorry that is 85-87 4age only.

america never got the ae86 in 84 i think, so it will probably fit (as far as ebay turbo kits ever really "fit")

AE86 had only one option and it was bigport bluetop 4AGE.
There are different version of pistons, cams, intake, exhaust... but everything will fit.

actually, the US did get the AE86 from 84-87. a good friend drives his around regularly and only pays $16 now for his state inspection since it's now officially a 25 year old car according to the DMV database.

as for the e turbo kit fitting ONLY 85-87 does it specify if it's for the AE86 or for a 4AGE? if the latter, than it's possible it could be for a FWD format. if it's for a GTS AE86 than there are no differences other than slight changes in connectors.

so what Ivan says about fitment should hold true.

yea we did have the ae86 from 83-87 and hatches from 84-86 and the gts model from 85-87

as for the blue top they are all the same
