Take a look at any racing sportsbike or the likes. Injection into the trumpets is very comon in very high rpm engines, gives the fuel more time to mix with the air. Sucks for lower rpm use, fuel tends to drop out of the airstream again.

$30k! for a few grand more get a Hayabusa v8 and be done with it!
notice the engine size in relation to the mechanics hand.... if it can fit into a Lotus 7... it can fit into an AE86.... Dan - You can | .... OR you can ask for help!!! OST Porting service - http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19991 |

Or drop in a F20C that produces the same power at 1/10th of the cost...
Looking at more pictures from the Hasselgren car, I think there must be a primary set of injectors at the conventional location right after the throttleplates (conventional for 8000-9000rpm engine, not stock), but mounted from the bottom..So the injectors in the bellmouths are used as a secondary bank for high rpm power. This is a Danish 86:
Even though a Hasselgren engine is very nice I don't realy see the point in spending $30k, but both cars are VERY nice! Sarcasme is just one of the things I offer Daily driver: '92 Toyota Carina E GTI Rebuilt project: '86 Levin hatch |

i agree. part of the mentality of the ae86 was afordability. an engine worth 8 whole cars kinda trashes that concept.
