This might be a stupid question but what do you guys think about running ams oil's synthetic manual synchromesh tranny fluid in my tranny. Not anytime soon since my car is still not running. What other brand is good. I was thinking bout going with kaaz gear/lsd oil but dahm, that is a high priced oil. I can get the ams oil manual tranny fluid for around $8-$9 a quart also so itll save me a few bucks.

Does it meet GL4 specifications?

Kaaz oil in a gearbox? Waste of money...

Not the one i mentioned on first post but they do have some that does meet GL-4 specs but a little pricier. Also, i know that with thee new cars nowadays. The tranny fluid has to be for that certain make and model but i didnt know about the GL-4 specs. Thanks for the info.

On the kaaz. Ive read that some people use it for there tranny and havent given them any problems but then the price steers me away.

Well, guess im sticking with the amsoil with GL-4 spec.

Thanks again fax0815 Thumbs up!

I used it in my W58, it didn't shift near as smooth as Redline MT-90.

I never used amsoil synchromesh in my T-50, but I did use MT-90 and it was pretty good. The only thing better was some $$$ Motul.

What did you use in your w58. Kaaz or amsoil? Ive read that on the Redline MT-90. A few people was having trouble with the oil breaking down too soon and damaging there cars(ae86) tranny. So im gonna stay away from that.

Never had a problem related to lack of lubrication... but I did change my fluid pretty often.

W58: Redline & Amsoil.
T50: Motul, Redline, Mobil1, Valvoline, Amsoil and a couple others.

Those are listed from best to worst in my experience IIRC.

Sweet, nice to now that. Yeah, once the car is up and running. Its pretty much going to be a weekend and track car so pretty much its going to get drifted a lot. Ill try the amsoil first since i get a discount from where i buy it. Then maybe motul next. Ive tried mobil 1, valvoline, and a few other brands but they had the same feel to me. Guess i never really paid attention to it much back then.

It's been like 5 years since I bought it.

I <3 Google: found a link to my own post in '08:

I know for sure I had Gear FF Comp, I remember when I got the bottle I was wondering what it was as the website wasn't updated and still said Gear 300 Comp or something like that.
