Hello again!

Thank you for your best wishes.. it has really been quite an adventure just hunting for one.. the fun part is just begining. Hurray!

I have a question.

Its about my VIN plate. The code says AE92! And by god, i know my car doesnt look like that. Also when dreja put my vin number in the Toyota EPC it said that i was supposed to have a 4A-GEL(U) engine, which would mean the engine is 4A generation, DOHC 16 valve, EFI, and TRANSVERSELY mounted! Which again would mean that my hachi is FWD or the driveshaft is one complex motherfu***. and its not. It would also mean that i have a 7 rib, hi comp, red-top engine from '87-'89 era (ae92). But i checked today and mine is like this:

- 3 RIBS
- T-VIS
- the letters are RED (although i have a hunch they have been painted red in the camcover-repanit, so they had might as well been blue).
- im still not sure about MAP or AFM, cause the intake tube and air filter are separated from the engine at the moment.. but i have founf a air-filter box and it is black and OVAL (eggshaped, only symetrical - robokill.press Tongue ) and there is also i think a 2 pin RED connector coming out of the box.

So can you tell me wheather do i have AFM or MAP, and what type of engine is it? How much powwwer? Is it blue top or red top?

dreja has AFM and i know how it looks like:

mine does not look like that, i have an oval airfilter box. but the rest apears to be the same.

omg, sounds like you have an 'illegal' AE86 overthere Smile

Haven't got any idea about the engine though Sad

Apolan, i see you have the metal VIN plate but the number should also be stamped into the bulkhead above the TVIS.

Over here people who often change car shells (ie rally drivers etc) will take the VIN plate with them and remove the bulkhead one, only need to have the one here. The process is illegal though but as the cars aren't often sold on nobody much is affected.

They do tend to use the correct car to transfer a plate from though Smile

As for your engine it sounds out that you have a standard blue top engine

Apolan, where did you find ae 92 ????

Simon, the previous owner of your hachiroku gave me this VIN number:
JT1G0AE8200054314:
so AE82 and not AE92 as you say...

If you enter this VIN in epc it will find out:
engine:
4AGEL
market: europe general
model: AE82L-EGMQFW
production date: year 85, month 02
grade : GT
manual transmision
3 door sedan

I agree with that, AE 82 or AE 92 is FWD, but who cares, you got a hachi!!!
